Design South was invited to submit a Master Plan Study for First Baptist Church of Clemson. While considering extremely limited site conditions and the need to maintain ongoing operations in a very public environment, an initial design concept for multiple phased construction was developed for the formal presentation to the Committee.
Our design of the new addition was inspired by the historic church building that once stood on the site but had been demolished years earlier. Utilizing a similar architectural language, we sought to recall the historic identity of the Church campus in old downtown Clemson.
Our expertise of three-dimensional modeling enabled us to convey our initial design concept to the Building Committee. We also utilized virtual reality technologies during the formal presentation that made it possible for us to move around the building and display multiple viewpoints.
