The Greenwood Metropolitan District upgraded the Wilson Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and a portion of the existing 30-inch Wilson Creek and 36-inch Coronaca Creek trunk sewers that transport wastewater to the plant.
Phase I design included installation of approximately 3,400 feet of 72-inch HDPE sewer.
Phase II and III included the installation of 3,900 feet of 48-inch HDPE sewer in the Wilson Creek Basin
The design featured installation of the pipeline in challenging conditions including bedding in very deep soils as well as high groundwater levels.
The installation process included electro-fusion welded joints that enable the pipeline to become a complete monolithic system.
